The subscriptions plugin automatically redirects to the checkout page by default. If you want to turn this off you need to change the mixed checkout setting.
This can be found in woocommerce -> settings -> subscriptions
Tick the box to allow mixed checkout (more about this can be found here: subscriptions mixed checkout )
